Door Options
We offer several ways to build your door, allowing you to choose the option that best fits your home and lifestyle.

Screen Door
A good old-fashioned wood screen door. The screen is installed directly into the door itself and can be replaced when needed, although it is not housed in a separate removable frame. This option does not include a storm glass insert.

Fixed Screen with Removable Glass
With this option, the screen is attached directly to the door, while a removable glass panel is installed on the interior side of the door (the side facing into the house). The glass is 1/8" thick clear tempered glass and is surrounded by a wood frame that matches the door's wood species and finish. Turn clips secure the glass panel in place and make seasonal removal easy.

Please note: This option is not available on 3/4" thick doors.

Interchangeable Screen & Glass
For maximum flexibility, both the screen and glass are housed in their own removable wood frames. The frames are made from the same wood species and finish as the door and are secured with turn clips on the interior side of the door. The glass is 1/8" thick clear tempered glass, making it easy to switch between screen and storm configurations as the seasons change.

Please note: This option is not available on 3/4" thick doors.

Permanent Glass (No Screen)
Don't need a screen? No problem. Several of our simpler door models, such as the 3600, 3600-P, 3610, and 3630, can be built as storm doors with permanently installed glass and no screen at all. This option is not available on every model and is not offered in the 3/4" thickness.

Custom Wood Window Screens & Storm Windows
If you own an older or historic home—whether it's a Craftsman, Bungalow, Victorian, Colonial, or Cottage—modern aluminum or vinyl screens can look out of place. Our custom-made wood window screens and storm windows help preserve your home's character while keeping insects out, fresh air flowing, and maintaining a historically appropriate appearance.

Each screen and storm window is built to order in the exact size and specifications needed for your home.

They can be used in front of existing windows to provide ventilation during warmer months, while storm panels offer added insulation during the winter. They are also a great solution for screened porches and three-season rooms.

Our standard frame is 3/4" thick unfinished Douglas Fir, but we also offer other wood species, thicknesses, and rail sizes to meet your needs. Additional customization options include taller bottom rails, crossbars, divided-lite sections, and decorative corner brackets.

Charcoal fiberglass screening is standard, although many other screening materials are available. Screens and storm windows can be supplied unfinished, stained, or painted. Bottom rails can be left flat or beveled at a 10-degree angle to better match sloped window sills for a cleaner, tighter fit.
